Question by BRobb: Did Keith Norfleet kill Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi? He is Kazemi’s ex-boyfriend. Read-?
Keith Norfleet is the only person involved in this case who cleary had a motive.

Kazemi left Norfleet a few months ago, the same time that she met McNair at a restaurant. He’s been jealous because this multimillionaire football celebrity stole his girl away and is giving her gifts that he will never be able to give her.

Do we know where he was Friday night? Saturday morning? This is of course all speculation at this point, but clearly the motive is there.

It was also reported from people who are myspace friends with Norfleet and Kazemi that he commented about their deaths on myspace before they actually occurred, and he even left “RIP” on Kazemi’s myspace page on July 2nd, two days before the murders. Since then, those comments have been deleted by him.

Seems highly unlikely that a young woman who is living well and being treated like a princess would be murderous and suicidal.

Has anyone viewed this screenshot of Norfleet’s myspace page from the day before the murders?

I believe the boyfriend did it also. He set it up real nice too. Made sure it was known that Steve had gotten threatened earlier that morning by a young woman who claimed her boyfriend wanted to kill him. And the myspace RIP message two days before Sahel’s death is just plain creepy. This may sound cruel, but in a way I hope that this whole thing was set up by Steve’s wife. Granted, NO ONE deserves to die, but in this case, it would be some craziness if we find out that Mechelle McNair found out about Steve and Sahel and had Sahel’s boyfriend off the two of them for a large sum of money…(since Mechelle will inherit it all!). Now THAT”S a movie!!

  1. It was a Myspace friend of Norfleet who had the RIP message on his own (the friend’s, not Norfleet’s) page. That page has since been deleted. It was quite ominous, and did appear at first glance that Norfleet’s friend knew something was in the wind, before the murders occured.

I have a feeling the police think Norfleet had a hand in it somehow (sort of similar to the Tonya Harding situation), but they are still gathering and analyzing evidence and slow playing things in general, perhaps hoping he or other suspects, tip their hand or do something goofy to give themselves away. I suspect the cops are watching him night and day. Granted the ballistics tests and toxicology reports will take some time to come back from the lab, so it’s not like the cops will have this important data, or could announce important findings, immediately. They are waiting on, as well as holding back on, a lot of important information.

I am 90% sure that the girl did not pull the trigger. She’s a 20 year old party girl who likes clubbing, drinking, and getting high. We all know, know of, or knew girls like that, at that age and they are girlie girls… into dressing up, clothes, make-up, looking pretty, going out, strutting their stuff, drinking, having a good time etc. They may get into catfights, but guns aren’t their thing. Two bullets to Steve’s chest and two to his head sounds like the work of an experienced gunman and a cold blooded male. If a 20 year old party girl pulled a trigger it might be one shot, maybe two, before she freaked out at the gun going off or the blood, etc and screamed. I think it highly unlikely that a party girl has it in her for four shots… Jello shots, yes, gun shots, no. Secondly, party girls tend to be narcissists and narcissists usually don’t commit suicide, and as has been pointed out women tend not to do suicide with guns. Plus, nobody in the vicinity heard any shots or screams. Was a silencer used? The whole tone of the murders says to me, as mentioned above, cold blooded male, experienced gunman, perhaps two gunmen.

I don’t think it was an honor killing (she’s from Iran) which occurs in the Muslim world when a woman has acted in a way to bring shame on the family name (adulterer, etc.). Usually it’s only the woman that gets killed, and not her male consort. Also, from a couple of articles, it sounds like she’s a bit estranged from her family (except for the one sister), which resides in the Jacksonville, FL area, as she dropped out of high school (in Jax) and moved to Nashville with Norfleet four years ago, giving them no notice.

Norfleet’s interview with the Tennessean newspaper has a bit of incoherence to it that along with the comments on his friend’s Myspace page, makes me initially suspicious of him. But we need more facts, and it will be interesting to see how things look as those facts (ballistics, toxicology, who owned the gun, fingerprints on the gun, any gunpowder on her hand, etc.) come out.

  2. Didn’t see the My Space but his comments are quiet suspicious. With the forensics they have today I am sure the police will get to the bottom of all this.It is a sad situation for everyone involved a lot of innocent people are hurting especially the McNair children.

  3. Keep in mind you can update your Myspace status via 3rd party sites such as ping.fm, Flock or Shozu – I’m not sure if that counts / shows as a login however. Tell the myspace folks to expect a subpoena for account activity to include status update date / time stamp?

I’m with Ron Jon regarding females shooting males. Females shooting someone they “love” multiple times would involve intense jealousy or anger. Most females will shoot another female in the head, but not a guy. Guys will shoot anybody in the head. I just can’t see the 20yr old girlfriend doing it. (UPDATE: According to the police – she purchased the gun used)

I think the key is going to be how Kazemi’s body was found (facedown vs faceup) and the lab tests on her hands, bullet trajectory, etc. Here’s a question, when someone shoots themself in the side of the head, how does the body usually fall?

Unfortunate situation and just my random $ .02. We’ll see if he pulls a Ray Carruth and is found hiding in the trunk of a car!

  4. The two met at a local Dave & Buster’s restaurant — where Kazemi worked and McNair often took his family. A sister of the brunette claims she believed McNair was in the process of getting a divorce. Steve McNair had been married to Mechelle Cartwright for 13 years, with whom his had four sons. 5. C’mon people, get real. Any 20 y.o. that believes a man she met a few months ago is going to break up his family for her, is just that: a 20 y.o. It appears a bit obvious that she was quite angry at this “adult” realization, shot Steve then cowardly turned the gun on herself. No disrespect towards the dead intended, but those of us with a few years under our belt believe she was simply the latest “piece” who Steve paid the ultimate price to get.

  6. 1) I don’t think it’s unrealistic at all for a man to leave his wife for a 20 year old. Happens all the time. Especially a wealthy man. We as a society didn’t invent the phrase “starter wife” for nothing. Its naive to think no men would leave their wives. There is only one thing more disposable than marriages in our society and that is fetuses.
Abortions and divorces don’t surprise me anymore. I’ve consoled enough jilted friends in my lifetime to know—-husbands leave their wives for other women.

    2) I’m just guessing but I don’t think this was a murder suicide. Anybody with a number of years under their belt knows that murder suicide is mostly a male behavior. That is foreign behavior for a girl. 95% of all murder suicides are committed by men. I’m not saying its not possible, but I’m ruling that out until all other possibilities are examined. That is simply not female behavior. Murder suicide is the LAST choice here. Its possible a 3rd party killed the two of them and then made it LOOK like a suicide. That is more likely to me.

    3) Personally her exboyfriend looks REALLY creepy. Im not saying he did it, but I understand why his name is being tossed around the internet. He looks creepy to the core.
If he crossed my path, I’d bump into a wall trying to walk around him.

    RIP steve.
Luv you! My mom and brothers and me are really hurting from this.
    Fans forever.

  7. There are many scenario of what could have happen, i.e. murder-suicide or just plain homicide. I will comment on what Ron Jon said about her not likely (not in those exact words) pulling the trigger because “She’s a 20 year old party girl who likes clubbing, drinking, and getting high,… girls like that, at that age and they are girlie girls… into dressing up, clothes, make-up, looking pretty, going out, strutting their stuff, drinking, having a good time etc. They may get into cat fights, but guns aren’t their thing”. That statement is false. People need to understand that when you are enraged (now this is alleging that she did indeed killed him and herself) you do not have any control over your actions no matter the age and/or gender. I can speak from experience when I was in a situation when I was around her age. I avoid any and every confrontation, like to have fun, keep to myself, yada, yada. one day someone got the better or me and I snapped, I never got mad to that point ever in my life, and if I had not’t come to my senses I could have murdered someone that’s day. My point is if you are pushed to the limit there in no telling how a person would react. you are capable of anything, and as far as you know if she did do it she took four shots before she realize what she done if she indeed done it. why would she have done it if she indeed committed a murder-suicide it could be any number of reasons, after the DUi he may have decided to call it quits, she found out she wasn’t the only woman he was seeing or realize he had no intentions of leaving his wife. you all may wonder how she get a gun, Steve Mcnair could have bought it for her for protection or got someone else to purchase it to give to her whatever the case may be, he could had also took her to the range or some remote area in TN for target practice. There are many possibilities. You all may say she 20yrs she’s young. I can see her age being a factor in her inexperience and her naivety. men need to understand when a young woman get a name who is good to her, they see that as he loves her she will believe anything he tells her and not see it for the b.s. it is, and she get caught up in her emotion in turn she may get obsessive. to a older woman and a younger one who have the knowledge and know the “game” we know the motive to his actions, we know he is not doing these things out of the kindness of his heart, it’s so that he can get a little “snatch” in return, keep our mouth shut etc. Now I am not saying a older woman regardless of her knowledge or experience can’t flip out. this goes back to what I previously mention no one knows how they would react in any situation. Keep that in mind folks. If y’all watched snapped on cable you will understand.

  8. I think we need to be careful about placing a “type” on miss Kazemi. She was young but she had moved away from home with a boyfriend when she was 15 or 16 years old, her parents died back in Iran, she is reported to have fled to Turkey before coming to Florida. That doesn’t sound like an every day childhood and when you add in the idea that she believed he was leaving his wife for her; we just don’t know what her breaking point was and what she would have done to protect herself from being “left” or “hurt”.

  9. I know all of these people and Sahel was a jealous psycho. She use to make Keith call her hourly to check in when he was at work. She was terrified that he might speak to another girl.
I have no doubt that she killed McNair over his wife.

  10. KEITH IS INNOCENT…. I KNOW WHERE HE WAS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY MORNING…. I WAS WITH HIM… AND ALSO I KNOW HE WOULD HAVE NEVER HURT THAT GIRL… THE WAY HE FELT ABOUT HER AND HOW MUCH HE LOVED HER…. HE WOULDNT HURT A FLY…. BUT NOW YOU KNOW WHERE HE WAS AND WHY HE IS INNOCENT… I WAS WITH HIM AT HIS APARTMENT I STAYED THE NIGHT WITH HIM…..

  11. So Katie, you were with Norfleet when he alleged that Kazemi knocked on his door early Saturday but she left before he could answer??

I can go both ways on this case, but I still tend to lean that Norfleet had something to do with this.

I believe he was the one who convinced her to drop out of HS and come to Nashville with him, and I suspect he’s the one who convinced her to buy a pistol on Thursday.

Even though they had split up, I still feel that Norfleet had some pull on Kazemi and she sought him out when McNair wasn’t there for her.

On friday 7/3 McNair and Kazemi were out clubbing, but separated because she was underage and couldn’t get into many establishments.

She went back to the condo, I assume Steve McNair met her there later that night when he was likely intoxicated.

A few hours later they were both dead.

  12. The shooter was obviously angriest with McNair, 2 shots to the head, and two to the body. I have several scenarios

    1. The betrayedf wife had knowledge of the affair and decided to end it and I do mean end it!

    2. The 20 year old jilted girlfriend realized that he wasn’t going to leave his wife and mother of his children .After all, she thought the he was going to marry her after the divorce.

    3. An honor killing by her Muslim family (they seem to know an awful lot about their relationship and when she purchased the gun, etc). A young beautiful Muslim girl tarnished by a married black man, who see’s her as nothing more than his peice of a s s on the side. What respectable Muslim man would want her now? She’s shamed the family.

  13. McNair’s girlfriend was muslim. Most muslims are radicals and terrorists. The muslims take their life when they commit adultry. Maybe McNair was a convert to Islam. The most obvious answer is that the girlfriend killed McNair and then committed suicide. Hence the “single bullet to the head”.

  14. In this case i believe that the girl was just in a lil over her head bout the rich football player and wanted to be with him in the end knowing it wasnt going to work. I mean he was still married and prob not going to get a divorce. She prob couldnt stand the thought of him not being with her in the end.
As far as her ex boyfriends friends myspace, dated 7/2 with RIP Sahel 2 days before she died… i dont find that strange in the least bit. I used to update my status via phone and if you use myspace mobile you would know that it does not change your log in date. The only time that changes is if you log in on an actual comp. Most young people now a days use their phone to update that status. So we cannot point the finger at them b/c of that date.
I pray for both families and hope the real truth comes out in the end

  15. There are too many different stories in this. First he was supposed to leave his wife and move in with the girlfriend, then she was supposed to get back together with the ex. This is all on the news. I think she bought the gun because maybe she was scared of someone, maybe the ex.
None of it makes sense. Her family says she was happy with McNair, so, why would she be scared of him?
