Hey,
Kay, so i just watched the original “Last House on the Left” like the 1960′s version, (not sure if its the very first one filmed? I think i’ve heard there was one in like the 1940′s?) anyways, I was wondering if Mari died or she was just like severely hurt? Also, does she die in the remake (2009) cause i’m pretty sure she is still alive? But i could be wrong.

I have seen the Wes Craven’s remake of The Last House On The Left and the daughter does indeed get killed in it. I think you might have seen the 1960s version, the one where wes craven remade from. I saw the remake in theaters and Mari does live in the end. It’s a really good remake and IMO much better than other remakes. It’s pretty intense and the rape scene is absolutely brutal. I liked how they made the movie, the style of it is way better and so was the outcome, much more satisfying than the old one. I think this is definately worth checking out if your in for a gore-fest.
To Rich: I said Mari lives, in the old one Mari dies. Wes Craven remade the foreign film “Jungfrukällan” to The Last House on the left(1972). So yes, there was one before.

I don’t know what the first answerer to this question was smoking, but the daughter of the couple that lives in “the last house on the left” does not die. She is brutally raped, and shot, but she lives. The original one is from 1972, and there are no others before it.
