I didnt think I would but Im actually taking this pretty bad and wanted to know how much communication I will be getting from him while he’s in BT. He’s going to be a cop in there so I was also wondering if he will come back for a while after BT or will he go straight to training?

hes comin back a crazy man these soldiers come back so crazy they dont know whats right anymore war is hell but you have to deal with it it took me 4 years to recover from the hell i saw when i was over there trust me he is not going to be the same sorry im talking about the marines
He will, probably, go straight to training. You can write each other letters and talk on the phone occasionally.
LOL at the first two answers! Im in the navy stationed on an Airforce base. These fuckers are spoiled! Im not sure about Basic training, it cant be any harder than the navy. Folding your clothes so they fit in your bed if youre on a ship, PT, Navy history and a gun shoot that last 3 or 4 hours. Easy day. The base that im at they have : WIFI, 4 places to eat that are basically open 24 hours a day, a computer center with web cams, free phone calls, 4 nice gyms, free dry cleaning and more. And guess what, this base is in qatar. A deployment base! Id hate to see what a regular homebase was like for them. Youre boyfriend might come back with his nose in the air. I knew there was a reason why they called it the “Chair Force” He’ll probably go straight to training for his job but im almost positive you can visit. They should have a hotel on base. The navy and air force isnt crazy like the marines and army training.
Air Force bootcamp is basically a six week sleepaway camp where they teach him about air force history and how to wear the uniform.
He will be able to write letters to you, and knowing the Air Force, they’ll have the ability to phone home occasionally.
He may get the chance to come home for a short visit, or if his MOS school is forming immediately after graduation, he may have to go straight to learn his job, but SP school probably isn’t very long, maybe a month or two… You will be able to visit him there when he has free time.
You can communicate through letters and telephone. The telephone part is more like 2 weeks into basic training. The first couple of weeks he will be very busy getting uniforms, hair cut (if need be) and a lot of classes / training on US Air Force policy and history. In regards to going to training after BT, that would depend on his contract if he gets time off between schools. Military is a good way to get a jump on life..I have 2 family members in the Air Force, I’m an Army veteran… Yes, they say Air Force life is nicer, but in BT it’s very similar to Army..I went to two graduations and met the instructors…Very good…
Don’t listen to the idiots who say it’s an easy six weeks. Air force has raised their basic to 8 weeks and they’ve made it more difficult. They spend less time folding clothes and more time shooting rifles now.
First of all, he’ll be going straight from BMT to Tech school. After Tech school he’ll be able to come home, but not before.
Also, he’s barely going to be able to actually call on a phone at all. Towards the end of BMT they get a little bit more phone privileges but this is still very little. I’m talking 10 minutes instead of 30 seconds. Plus I’m sure he’s going to call his mom or dad, so yeah, don’t expect to hear from him much if at all by phone
He will be able to write letters, but it depends on how much time they give him for that too. I didn’t have much time to write letters, but ABSOLUTELY LOVED getting letters. Getting letters made it so much better, and made me feel connected to my family while in that hell hole. My family sent me letters everyday, so every time my TI passed out mail I got at least one letter, and it was so important to me, I never thought I would have wanted letters that bad. So even if you don’t hear from him, write him LOTS! He’ll really appreciate it.
