I would like to know, how often can he write and how often i can write him, and if there are any specific things you cannot write to him or send him? also do the people who check the mail read the letters? and will letters help him stay strong?

you can write him as much as you want. you just hafta wait for him to write to you with a return address so you know where to send your letters. he should be able to call you every once in a while. i went through basic a couple years ago. and i think i got like 4 or 5 phone calls over 14 weeks. so its not that often. but keep your phone on. just hearing your voice will do a lot for him. you can send pics in your letters. but chances are he will hafta show them to his superiors. soo just be careful.
Letters.
He’s going to be very, very, very, very busy the first 3 or 4 weeks. You should expect him to write a couple times a week and the letters will be short.
Don’t send him anything like candy or gum. Don’t send pictures of yourself naked, or even half naked. Letters are NOT read, but if there’s something in the letter they will make him open it in front of his RDC.
You can write him as often as you like.
You can write him everyday if you want. He will be able to write back, maybe not everyday though. You can write anything you want, they won’t read his mail, and letters from home will help a lot. Just don’t send any pictures you don’t want EVERYONE to see, because EVERYONE will see them.

It all depends on the instructor. My TI didn’t allow us to write letters until the 4th week.
