He is going to San Antonio lack land air force base. He is training to be a CCT (Combat controller) will he be able to visit me after boot camp?

call down there, the number is on there website.. call monday of the first week of training.. he has to process through week zero first to get his squadron and flight number… as for visiting after boot camp, not likely if he goes straight into tech training… thats if his training has immediate openings or hes is not held back in bmt for any reasons… but good news is he gets his cell phone back, if he had one, after graduating, but cant use it unless in his room after duty hours… but they keep them pretty busy there first couple of weeks…. so the basics of it is he will be very busy for i say the next 12 weeks, so dont get all worked up about the communication… keep your kool and be patient you will be fine… and do not write him anything depressing or sad try and be positive if you really want it to work…. good luck
One the USAF doesnt have Special Forces. CCT is Special Operations. There is a difference. Two its basic training not boot, only the Navy and the Marines go to boot. When he graduates basic you can go see him then, but right after that he will go to CCT School. CCT school i over a year long, and in that time, no he will not be able to see you. If he passes, then after that he will be able to see you again on leave before he goes to his first base. I say if he passes because Spec Ops have a huge washout rate. Not saying he cant do it, I dont know the guy, but most cant hack it. If they could it wouldnt be “Special” now would it. Also he will write letters or call home as his flight earns it. He might have one a week, or he might have none. Its all based on how his flight does, and how his TI’s are.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IGNORE THE GUY BELOW ME. If you call his unit you are going to make his life hell in basic. When i went through basic at lackland, we had a guys mom call the unit to make sure he was ok. The TIs never let him graduate. They kept calling him mommas boy and found reasons to wash him back enough until they had to kick him out. Also while some tech schools will let you have cell phones during them, unless the rules have changed CCT is not one of them. They dont want you to have distractions during training.
My boyfriend left october 21. i got his first letter on november 11th, it was mailed out on november 7th. so basically his third week in. A few days after he has been in he will get 1 call to give a family member his addresss, if youdon’tt hear anything after about a week call lackland and ask for a mailing adress. the number is pretty easy to find. you’ll need his full name to get it. Make sure you write him A LOT they love to get letters, it makes their whole day better. So far ive gotten 4 calls from him. He will try and call you whenever they get a patio break, but if everyone in the squadron hasnt basically been perfect then they wont get thier break. My boyfriend graduates this friday, after that he goes to whichita falls for tech school, hes becoming a neuclear weapons apprentice. Im not sure, but i dont think if your boyfriend is in basic training during christmas he will get to come home or not. Mine gets leave for christmas from tech school. Hope i helped!

hanleywk, you’re wrong. The Army is the only US armed service with “Special Forces” or often referred to as the Green Berets. All branches have special operations forces. It may sound like a minor difference, but it’s not.
