He left me because he said he no longer loves me. I tried getting back together with him, but i realized that it was hopeless. He is set on leaving me. There isn’t even another girl. I just want someone to return my affections.

Lana, I’m going to tell you something. I’m in the same boat: 6 years, nearly 7, together–we’ve been through hell together (failed IVFs, etc.). There’s a reason a guy stays with you that many years. And there’s a reason why he suddenly doesn’t want to any more. The reason to stay is usually an emotional interdependency/reliability/history/habi⦠You’re the only person who knows him that well, he’d trust you with his bank account, etc. And there’s a reason he suddenly wants to leave. And it almost always looks good in high heels. With mine I found out — by Facebook! — that he had been going on dates (“nothing! just lunch! you can’t control me 100% of the time!”) with women in every city he visits on business. Always has a great rationalization that I could chose to believe if I don’t want to face the truth. You know how there’s always a way to believe a plausible lie instead of facing cold facts (like why he didn’t marry you (or me) in six years). Sexually, he’s moved past you. But he will probably be emotionally dependent on you — like a mom or something — until you cut him off. And that’s what will really hurt both of you. It’s the reason mine hasn’t been able to let go, and the reason I haven’t made him. I basically have nobody else in this city. Sorry, dear.
