It’s been about 2 months now that my boyfriend left me for his ex-girlfriend. I’m still getting over the pain. I still think about him everyday. I hear he’s extremely happy and in love with his ex-gf, well now his gf. Although it hurts me a lot, it’s his birthday today. And I know he has forgotten about me already, but do you think I should text him happy birthday? I mean it was my birthday a few weeks ago and of course I didnt hear from him.
No….because you are just using his birthday as an excuse to maintain contact with him and he will lose even more respect for you. He will see right past that manipulation.
And why are you pining after a guy who obviously cares nothing about you? Why are you so obsessed as to whether he is happy with his new/ex GF? You need to get a life and grow up and find yourself. Above all…..maintain your dignity and self respect.
This whole scenario sounds like all of the parties involved are in high school. And of course, he is not going to contact you about your birthday……why should he?
And if you truly loved him, be mature and be happy for him that he does love someone and that she loves him……wish them well. I know that may seem weird…..but it the mature thing to do. And move on with your life. This shouldn’t be a contest between who gets the guy.
No, Because obviously your thinking about him and he’s not, if he wished you a happy birthday then I’d wish him one too but it seems like he doesn’t care. I had a ex boyfriend who left me for his ex, but he kept in touch and wished me a happy birthday, but this guy sounds like a **** don’t do it.
You are going through a mourning period right now, you are mourning the loss of that relationship. If you contact him you put yourself back at step one again rather than being on step 10 that you are on now. That is what contact does for our grieving hearts, gives them hope just to have it broke all over again. No, it’s not a good idea for you or him, if you respect him, then any contact could be seen as something morer by the gf. None of it is any good for you. You waste you time and energy but worse, you put yourself back to the beginning.

hm. that’s a real personal judgment call. it depends on how you feel. i’d recommend wishing him happy birthday. nothing special, no card or anything. do you guys use a social network? that’s a little less personal then a text, and might be better received. plus, if he happens to have deleted your number i’m sure you’ll be hurt when he asks, ‘whos this?’

No. Stop all forms of contact with this man. You will wait all day for a response and when you get none you will be in worse shape. Do you understand what it means to move on? That means no contacting, even for birthdays. He is over you, time to start looking for companionship elsewhere.
