Don’t wait, get a lawyer right away. I would immediately file for a divorce. Ask your lawyer what you can do about your financial situation. Can you get alimony? Can you get the title to your house in your name only in a divorce settlement. Find out what your legal options are.

Most Counties in the USA have a Sheriff’s website that posts legal aid tools and forms. There should be a telephone# you can contact for assistance in addition to free forms. You have to have his current address. If you don’t find out where his family lives and start searching. We have very close ties with the UK.

You’ve got a few options depending on how far you want to go and a few other factors. The most reasonable I would think is bringing him into court to discuss this. Unfortunately I’m not familiar with international laws concerning this, so this actually may or may not be an option. You could go and track him down yourself. It’s real easy to track people down these days. You could also just move to a house that’s cheaper and you’re more comfortable with. That’s all I can come up with for the moment.
