My husband is in the navy and deployed and was to come home immediately on emergency family leave. That was 35 hours ago and I have heard nothing since should I b e worried?

Depends. Where was he deployed, and where is he going to. If truly concerned check with the Red Cross,as they handle emergency notification for the military.
Depending on where he is coming from they aren’t going to stop and give him phone and e-mail breaks every 100 miles. IF he was approved to come home, he will get there when he gets there. There is nothing fast about the Navy and this is one of those opportunities where you get to see the Navy speed in action. He should be fine and he will contact you when he can. IF he was on a ship he needed to be trasported from the ship by plane or helo, taken to the nearest port that handles such travel and then sometime after that he may be on his way home. If he was in the gulf or anywhere near it, it will take several days to get back stateside. IF he was somewhere else, it could take even longer. Sorry to tell you just to wait, but that is the life of the Navy.

After 9/11 we got deployed to Afghanistan and it took us 3 weeks to get there! We got stuck at every base we landed at due to logistical issues.
He might just be stuck somewhere and can’t get to a phone.(in the 3 weeks we were delayed I only got a chance to call home twice). There’s no info about anything bad happening in the mil transport wise. I keep tabs on that stuff.
contact his 1SGT, as a spouce, you should have the 1SGT #, if anyone should know anything, it would be his 1SGT and commander. Sometimes flights take time, especially if they put him on an airforce bird. They make frequent stops and sometimes the planes make several stops, you could ask the 1SGT what kind of tranportation they put him on. If it was a civilian, he may be home faster, but still a flight from Iraq would take 15 hours or more. With three time zone changes.
The military is big on hurry up and wait! I wouldn’t worry. He’s probably waiting for flights and transfers.

He has to go someplace to catch the plane. He will get a priority seat, it may be day between flights. Who knows how many transfers he has. If its mostly military flights, he may not have access to phones on the flight lines.
Also, military planes usually make a lot of stops on the way, unless it is a chartered flight.
No hun, dont be worried just yet. When my husband came home it took him about 3 days (maybe longer) JUST to get to Baltimore… that wasnt home either. They get stuck in different countries for a while on lay overs… and with it being emergency leave he is probably flying stand by or something so he may or may not be able to get on a flight. If it was non-stop like when he went over, it would only take about 16 hrs if even that for him to be home, but coming home is a total different story… I am sure he is just fine, he will be home soon. Since he was coming home on an emergency leave… it may have been such short notice that his flights and transfers were not organized correctly. Military motto is “Hurry up to wait.” If you call the Redcross they will be able to help you. He probably doesnt have access to a phone either. Hang in there.

no, its takes a while to get back especially when they are having to get him on a flight, my bf was comming home from deployment and it took 4 extra day until he actually got back tot he base, if you want to call the red cross they may be able to track him down and see what his status is
Depending on what time zone he is in, it might have taken a bit of time for him to get the message. Also, through his command/ship, getting him out of the area and towards you could take time too because of security reasons. Did you contact the American Red Cross? That might be a good call to make-they may be trying to process him to get him home. Also you may want to contact his command through the contact numbers that he should have left for you. Be patient-unfortunately, these things can take time.
