Question by _: Why would she do this?
My husband and I went to Disney World for our honeymoon. He told his mom we were going and when we got back she called to see how it went. We didn’t brag, just said it was really nice there. Three months later, my mother in law had a vacation booked for Disney World. Now yet again, she has planned another vacation for Disney World. I take it as… she’s trying to top us- and we’re not trying to be competitive. We went there for ourselves and not to show off. When she went last year, she was so broke, she was on food stamps and could hardly pay her bills. We didn’t understand why she went if she couldn’t afford it, but she did anyways.
Unrelated but a taste of who she is- my husband and I got into an argument at her house. I left the room because I wasnt going to fight in front of her. She asked him when I left, “What’s up her @ss?” He told me and I cannot believe my MIL would talk about me like that. She is so RUDE! What is her problem? She is not happy unless everyone else is angry!

Why is your Mom-N-Law so important that you choose to occupy your mind with the choices she makes?
If she’s the person you desire to model after, or the person you want to use as an excuse for your choices, well OK.
If not, choose to get on with YOUR life.
WOW, seems theres a nerve close to the skin……. Maybe she’s going to DL becuase you both said it was nice and she’s wanting to go somewhere nice on her vacation, rather than someplace not real nice. Considering you and her son where there, your recommendation should be good….. As for you two getting into a tuff in front of her….. You certainly have to realize, she’ll stick up for her son….. Your mother would do the same for you……. Worry about you and your hubbies realtionship and let her (your MIL) live her own life…. By now she should be wearing “big girl panties” and you don’t need to be worrying if they need changing…. Enjoy your new wife status and have a good time…..
